About This Quote
Jesus was a Jew who lived in the Holy Land. He wanted to spread the word of God and teach people to turn to Him. In Luke chapter 10, Jesus tells a parable about a hardworking man who labors all day long, but never gets any rest or reward for his work. Jesus says that the man does not really have an easy life, he just thinks he does because he does not understand all of God’s ways.
But Jesus tells his followers that the man will find rest if he will come and follow him. He will find rest in knowing that everything is going to work out okay in the end. He will find rest in knowing that the burden of hard work is light compared to what will come when he follows Jesus.
The man in this story is like us; we work hard every day, but we never get any real reward for our efforts. That’s all right though; if we will follow Jesus, we too will find rest when the end comes.
